Paul G. Gans

Paul George Gans, age 72, of Joliet, passed away peacefully, Thursday, August 4th, 2022 at home, with his loving family by his side.

Born in Rockdale, IL on February 20, 1950 to Albert and Helen (Likar) Gans, he started his career as a truck driver, working for Schiek Motor Express and EcoLab for over 35 years.  He later owned Gans Construction and currently the E Street Bar and Grill.  He never shied away from hard work and never hesitated to extend a hand when someone needed one. 

Paul will be remembered by many as a true and reliable friend, as well as a loving husband, dedicated father, and compassionate and generous grandfather and great-grandfather.  He enjoyed spending time with his family and his loyal dog, Boss, and he was an avid Bruce Springsteen fan.  His love of family and friends was only matched by his love of candy and all things sweet.

He is survived by his beloved wife of 55 years, Laura (Robowski) Gans; his daughter, Carrie (John) Wisemantle; his son, Dr. Christopher (Maria Laca) Gans; his grandsons, Quintin (Lauren) Wisemantle, Riley Wisemantle, Avery Wisemantle and Jack Gans; and his great-granddaughters, Lila Wisemantle and Atley Wisemantle.  He is also survived by his brother, Ronald (Mary Lou) Gans; his sister, Nancy Gans; and many nieces and nephews. 

He was preceded in death by his parents; and his siblings, Edward Gans Sr., Lois Anzalone, Richard Gans and James Gans.

Visitation for Paul Gans will be held Sunday, August 7, 2022 from 2:00 to 6:00 p.m., at Fred C. Dames Funeral Home, 3200 Black Road, Joliet.  Funeral services will be held Monday, August 8, 2022 at 9:00 a.m., from the funeral home to St. Joseph Catholic Church, 1329 Belleview Avenue, Rockdale, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m.  Interment will be private.
