

Obituary of Linda D. Steuri
Linda D. Steuri, age 76, passed away on Sunday, April 26, 2026, in Joliet. Born in Chicago, IL, on October 8, 1949, she was the daughter of the late Emil and Helen (née Ingram) Mendygral.
She believed that family was life’s greatest blessing and centered her days around caring for, supporting, and loving those closest to her. As a mother and grandmother, she created a home filled with warmth, laughter, and unwavering guidance. Her grandchildren were her pride and joy, and she cherished every moment spent with them—whether sharing stories, offering wisdom, or simply being present in their lives.
She had a special affection for animals, especially cats and dogs, and found comfort and companionship in their loyal presence. Her kindness extended not only to people but to all living things, reflecting the gentle spirit she carried throughout her life.
Her faith was a cornerstone of who she was. A deeply religious woman, she lived her beliefs through compassion, humility, and quiet strength. She found peace in prayer and trusted in God’s plan, offering encouragement and hope to others through her steadfast devotion.
She will be remembered for her loving heart, her strong values, and the deep sense of connection she nurtured among family and friends. Her legacy lives on in the lives she touched, the traditions she upheld, and the love she gave so freely.
Linda is survived by her children, Joseph (Jody) Furlano, Renee Wissel, and Scott (Sarah) Furlano; grandchildren, Julianna, Calista, Marissa, Joseph, Gianna, Paige (Ryan), Kylie, Christian, Amy, and Olivia; her great-grandchildren, Leo and Weston; her sister, Mary (Walter) Sarna, and brother, Joseph (Felicia) Mendygral.
She is preceded in death by her parents.
Funeral services for Linda D. Steuri will be held at 9:15 a.m. on Monday, May 4, 2026, at the Fred C. Dames Funeral Home, 3200 Black Rd., Joliet, IL, to Queen of Apostles Catholic Church, 18 Woodlawn Ave., Joliet, IL, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. Interment will follow at Resurrection Cemetery, Justice, IL. Visitation will take place at the funeral home chapel on Sunday, May 3, 2026, from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m.
