Teresa Lynn Castillo, 65, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, April 29, 2026, at her home in Aurora, IL, surrounded by the love of her family. Teresa was born on May 20, 1960, in Bremerton, Washington, and from her earliest days carried a quiet strength and gentle spirit that would come to define her life.

Teresa was the beloved daughter of Patty Foschi and the late Abbey J. Kiser, and the eldest of her siblings, a role she embraced with care and responsibility. A graduate of Gardner South Wilmington High School, she went on to build a long and respected career as an underwriter in the banking industry, sharing her expertise and professionalism with NuMark, Abri, and most recently, Fifth Third Bank.

Teresa’s work life, however, was only one small reflection of who she was. She was a nurturing, loving presence at the center of her family, known for bringing everyone together—especially during the holidays. She found great joy in cooking and in traveling, creating memories that will be cherished for generations. Her home was a place of warmth and comfort, where compassion, laughter, and understanding were always in abundant supply.

Teresa is survived by her devoted husband of 14 years, Frank J. Castillo; her mother, Patty Foschi; her children, Tim (Carrie) Hill, Pat (Brielle) Salyer, Ben (Jennifer) Salyer, Krista (Ellie) Sauter, Frank (Atalie) Castillo II, and Antonio Castillo; and her grandchildren, Dylan Hill, Tyler Hill, Alden Hill, Brooks Sauter, Warren Salyer, Russell Salyer, Millie Sauter, and Autum Salyer. Teresa also leaves behind her siblings, Tim (Alexis) Kiser, William (Kim) Kiser, Mark (Marilu) Kiser, Allen Kiser, Matthew (Lydia) Kiser, Michael Kiser, Daniel (Tamara) Kiser, James Quigley, Deana (Kurt) Plotner, and Brianne Foschi; her lifelong best friend and “sister,” Nancy (the late Randy) Wilkey; her feline companion, “Jenner”; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

She is preceded in death by her son, David Hill; her father, Abbey J. Kiser; and her brother, Philip Kiser.

Funeral Services for Teresa Lynn Castillo will be held at 11:00 a.m., on Tuesday, May 5, 2026, at the Fred C. Dames Funeral Home, 3200 Black Rd. Joliet, IL. Interment will follow at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery in Elwood, Illinois. Visitation will be held at the funeral home chapel on Monday, May 4, 2026, from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m.
