Obituary of Christopher E. Dockery

Christopher Edward Dockery, age 51, of Wenona, IL, passed away Saturday, May 2, 2026, at St. Joseph Medical Center, with his family by his side, following a courageous battle with cancer.

Born February 26, 1975, in Oak Lawn, IL, he was the son of Craig and Sharon (Noak) Dockery.  He was a graduate of Reed-Custer High School, and worked as a manager for Heartside Food Solutions in Wenona.

Chris was a loving and devoted son, brother and uncle whose place in the family will be forever cherished.  He was an avid fisherman and Chicago Cubs fan, and will be remembered for his sense of humor.  He enjoyed a large circle of friends who were very much like family to him.  Although he wasn’t here for a long time, he was here for a good time.

Surviving are his mother and step-father, Sharon and Alan Krieg of Essex, IL; his sisters and brothers, Michelle (Justin Munoz) Dockery of Crest Hill, Kelly Heffernan-Bulsara of Charlotte, NC, Louis (Lisa) Heffernan of Willow, AK, and Keith (Emily) Dockery of Essex, IL; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by father, Craig Dockery.

Cremation rites have been accorded and a celebration of Christopher’s life will be held at a later date.
