Obituary of William Michael Rakes
William Michael Rakes, (Mike), age 75, of Morris, passed away on Tuesday, May 19, 2026, at Morris Hospital with his family by his side. He was born June 11, 1950, in Puyallup, WA to the late William and Virginia (Woolery) Rakes.
Mike's hobbies included restoring classic cars and attending car shows. He enjoyed being the "retired Guy". His greatest joy was his family, especially his grandson Alexander "Devil", who was the light of his life.
He is survived by his loving wife, Sandy (Garmon) Rakes; his children, Nick Rakes and Tiffany (Nick) Frey; grandson, Alexander Frey; brother, Pat Rakes; special niece, Mandie Sanches and special friends, Joe Van Cleave and Don (Betty) Brown. Also, numerous nieces and nephews.
Preceded in death by his parents; sister, Lynn Sanches; in-laws, Richard (Marilyn) Garmon, and best friend, John Carr.
As it was Mike’s request, cremation rites have been accorded, and no services will be held.
