Justin Tyler Wojtkowski
Justin Tyler Wojtkowski, 40, of Morris, IL, passed away due to injuries sustained in an accident, on Saturday, May 23, 2026, in LaSalle, IL, leaving behind a legacy of love, laughter, and an uncanny ability to light up a room just by walking into it.
Justin was born on November 1, 1985, in Evergreen Park, IL, the son of Edward and Janet (nee Sinkauskas) Wojtkowski. He was raised in the Chicago area and spent his childhood in Crestwood, Illinois, before moving with his family to Plainfield in 1995, where his circle of friends—and his collection of good stories—grew steadily larger. Justin graduated from Plainfield South High School with the Class of 2004 and later attended Joliet Junior College, studying Industrial Mechanical Maintenance.
Justin proudly served his country in the U.S. Army, where his dedication and work ethic earned him multiple honors, including the Iraq Campaign Medal, Good Conduct Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, Army Service Ribbon, and Overseas Service Ribbon. He brought the same steady reliability and quiet courage to his civilian life that he showed in uniform.
After his military service, Justin worked as a Field Mechanic with Exxon Mobil, applying his skills, sharp mind, and can-do attitude to every challenge. Whether he was solving a tough problem on the job or fixing something for family or friends, Justin was the one people knew they could count on—usually with a joke or a grin thrown in at no extra charge.
Above all, Justin was a devoted and loving father to his daughter, Marley Wojtkowski of Morris, IL. He was known for his big heart, his kind and caring nature, and his fun-loving spirit. He always seemed to have a smile on his face and a way of making others feel at ease. Time with family and friends was his favorite way to spend a day, and he was happiest when the people he loved were laughing.
Justin is survived by his daughter, Marley; his mother, Janet Wojtkowski; his brothers, Joshua (Lauren) Wojtkowski and Jason (Jenna) Wojtkowski; his nephew, Jack Wojtkowski; and his niece, London Archey.
He is preceded in death by his father, Edward Wojtkowski; his maternal grandfather, Joseph Sinkauskas; and his paternal grandparents, Robert and Irene Wojtkowski.
Those who knew Justin will remember him as loving, funny, and friendly—a man with a big heart, a quick smile, and a genuine care for others. His life was full of hard work, service, and devotion to family, and his memory will live on in the stories told, the laughter shared, and the love he gave so freely.
A Memorial Gathering for Justin Tyler Wojtkowski will be held on Saturday, June 6, 2026, at the Fred C. Dames Funeral Home, 3200 Black Rd., Joliet, IL, from 2:00 p.m. until the time of Memorial Service at 6:00 p.m. As it was his request, cremation rites have been accorded.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in his name to Disabled American Veterans.
