Perry A. Pelekoudas
Age 92, of Orland Park, Illinois, passed away on Monday, July 20, 2026 surrounded by family at Silver Cross Hospital.
He was born on June 3, 1934 to the late Georgia (nee Christopolous) and George Pelekoudas in Chicago, IL.
Perry dedicated 10 years to professional baseball working as a Minor League umpire within the Major League Baseball system, a career he thoroughly enjoyed before retiring from in 1972. He later spent 25 years as a semi-truck driver, earning the respect of those who knew him through his strong work ethic and dedication.
Family was the heart of Perry's life. Nothing brought him greater joy than spending time with those he loved. He especially cherished family reunions and get-togethers, where he enjoyed bringing everyone together to share stories, laughter, and lasting memories. His greatest happiness came from seeing his family united, and those treasured moments will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
He is the beloved father of Michael (Gail), and Perry (Kim) Pelekoudas; loving grandfather of Michael Jr., PJ, Kevin (Charlotte), Jordan, Rebekah, and Angel (Cody) Pelekoudas. Many great-grandkids also survive.
He is preceded in death by his loving wife, Charlean (Lyons) Pelekoudas; his granddaughter, Traci, and his 13 brothers and sisters.
As it was Perry’s request, cremation rites were accorded with inurnment at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery.
