Grandma Sandy was a beautiful soul. Gentle, loving, and full of quiet strength. She touched every life around her with generosity and warmth. We were all so richly blessed to have known her. She was an angel, she was wise, a confidant, the biggest cheerleader, and an example to every young woman. The memories of her family gatherings will forever be a blessing. They were always filled with so much joy.
We shared a bond that shaped me in ways I’ll carry forever. She taught me so many things, budgeting, cooking and hosting, how to love deeply, how to find joy and be grateful in hard moments, and how to move through life with faith and dignity. Some of my fondest memories are simply being beside her, chopping vegetables for pasta salad, talking, laughing, crying, or just sitting quietly and relaxing watching the chipmunks eat the crackers she’d place on the patio for them. I knew I was always safe in her presence and could share anything freely without judgment. Her love was genuine and pure and I think she was the only one in the world like that. She will be missed greatly in so many ways by all.
