Obituary of Patsy Ann Goodman

Patsy Ann "Patty" Goodman (nee Strum),  age 92, of Morris, IL, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family on Wednesday, July 22, 2026, at The Gardens at Park Pointe in Morris, IL. Patty was born on March 21, 1934, in Verona, IL to William and Nadine (nee Brockman) Strum. 

Patty began her career at Morris Hospital before moving on to work at Dr. Bedford's office in Morris. She retired as a nurse  from Dwight Correctional Facility. She was extremely dedicated to her family and was proud to be a mom, grandma, and sister. Patty would often take her grandchildren down to the creek in Verona to throw rocks off the bridge. As the grandchildren were growing up, Patty and her daughter, Dana, would take them out for car rides and let Kelcie and Andrew take turns learning how to drive. One of the times, they actually drove past Roger and Pam.

Patty is survived by her beloved son, Roger (Pam) Goodman; adoring granddaughter, Kelcie (Carl) Goodman Franks; and her loving sisters, Pam Dunn and Billee (Harold) Thetard.

She was preceded in death by her parents; one daughter, Dana Goodman; grandson, Andrew Goodman; brother, Donald Strum; and brother-in-law, Jack Dunn. 

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to Just Animals Shelter, 505 Depot St., Mazon, IL 60444.

Private graveside services for Patty Goodman will be held at Ward Cemetery in Verona. Per Patty's request, cremation rites have been accorded. Arrangements were entrusted to the care and direction of the Fred C. Dames Funeral Home, Morris, IL.
