Patricia Lou Ziesmer

Age 87, of Plainfield, Illinois, passed peacefully at home, Tuesday, August 25, 2026.  She was born on July 22, 1939 in Decatur, Illinois, to the late Dorothy and Thierld Sarver. Patricia was raised in Aurora before moving to the Joliet area where she resided most all of her adult life.

Surviving are her sons, Robert "Steve" (Sue) Dieter, John (Vicki) Dieter and Carl Ziesmer, Jr.; grandchildren, Zachary, Matthew, Christopher (Julie), Jorie (Sean), Danny (Laura) and Laura; great-grandchildren, Riley, Domonic, Eleanor, Amelia; Peyton, Jackson, Jaclyn, Virginia, Maddie and Ben.  Also surviving are her sister, Verna Nurczyk, as well as her canine companion, Tilly, and several dear friends and neighbors.

She is preceded in death by her first husband, Robert Dieter; second husband, Carl Ziesmer; sister, Betty Aducci; two brothers, Rusty and Duane Sarver, and daughter-in-law, Ruth Ziesmer.

Patricia, possessing a giving heart, with a soft spot for infants, served many children as an aide in the nursery at St. Joseph Hospital until retiring several years ago.

Upon retirement, she enjoyed wintering in Largo, Florida, where she was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary at the American Legion, Post 252.

Visitation for Patricia Lou Ziesmer will be Friday, August 28, 2026, from 9:00 a.m. until services begin at 10:00 a.m., at the Fred C. Dames Funeral Home, 3200 Black Rd. (at Essington Rd) Joliet.  Interment will follow in Woodlawn Memorial Park.
