Elinore L. Murphy

Age 94. Passed away peacefully Wednesday, July 6, 2016. She graduated from St. Joseph College of Nursing in 1943, and devoted most of her life as a caregiver for patients and family. She was a member of St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church, and will be commemorated for her unwavering faith. Elinore was a health enthusiast and enjoyed reading, crocheting, and volunteering. A former Miss Lemont, she will be remembered for her sense of style and outgoing personality.
Survived by her loving children, Carlene (Jack) Kaps, Laurie (Alan) Bucciarelli, Michael (Deborah) Griffin; daughter-in-law, Jan (the late Dr. William Griffin); son-in-law, Tom (the late Mary Griffin) Trucco; grandchildren, Robert (Deann) Griffin, Amy (Dave) Vigil, Rebecca (Thomas) Dewbray, Sarah Kaps, Timothy Griffin, Dan Griffin, Elizabeth (Bret) Caliban, Allison Bucciarelli and Brian Bucciarelli; seven great-grandchildren; and cousins.
Preceded in death by her parents; husbands, Robert W. Griffin and David E. Murphy; and brother, Robert Erickson.

A Celebration of Life for Elinore L. Murphy will be held on Thursday, July 14, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church, 18 Woodlawn Avenue, Joliet. All friends and relatives are invited to gather on Thursday at the church from 10:00 a.m. until time of Mass. Inurnment to follow at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery.
