To the family of Doralydia sorry for your loss at a time like this coping with the loss of a love one can be very hard to deal with, but the bible's promise for those who have fallen asleep in death have comforted many families, please read John 5:28,29 and Revelation 21:3,4.

My deepest condolences. I'm one of the nurses who took care of Dora at northwestern. Although I only had a short time with Dora, I did get to witness the incredible love of her family. From that I can see how incredible of a woman Dora was and it was a great pleasure being able to care for her. I am so sorry for your loss and I will keep you in my thoughts and prayers.

It’s hard to put into words the echoing void that Dora’s absence has left. I searched the internet and flipped through books to find a poem or anything powerful that could at least hint to the fact that this young mother was so very special that I, a mere acquaintance, could feel such an immense loss. I wanted to find something that could convey to you, her family, that you were not biased when it came to Dora, that the rest of the world knew how remarkable she was upon meeting her. I never did find anything that even came close to assuring you, her loved ones, that “yes, we saw it too”. So, I will tell you, we did see it. I could and did often walk past her, unobserved on any given day and I could see her holding an infant, laughing, smiling and she was so radiant. Not only due to her unassuming beauty, but because anyone could see her goodness. It glowed from her, strong and sure. You knew she was one of those women who was meant to be a mother too. You could tell this just by watching her graceful and confident hands as she nurtured and comforted, and you could tell this by the pure joy that children brought to her. I guess that’s what gets me every time I think too long about losing her, she was a gift we were all lucky to have had, especially her children. I hope that Dora knows that. And I hope she knows that at night, when I kiss my little boy and tuck him in bed, I think of her and always will. She has taught me that each moment is a miracle and that it is not one to be taken lightly or in vain. She taught that incalculable courage and strength is possible and that motherhood is an absolute treasure. She has taught me more about life than just about anyone I know, despite the fact I have spoken on less than a dozen occasions. That is how special your girl is.
