Obituary of Violette V. Giovanini
Violette V. Giovanini
“Vi”
(nee Konow)
Age 76, passed away on Sunday, February 18, 2018, at Loyola University Medical Center, Maywood, IL, after 20 days in the ICU following a fire in her Joliet home, surrounded by her loving children. Her husband, Ted, remains in critical care at Loyola Medical Center. In the peacefulness of her backyard, she enjoyed watching the birds and squirrels and taking care of her plants and flowers in her garden. She was an animal lover and sheltered animals in her home while awaiting their forever homes. A caregiver for many years, she will be remembered for her quirkiness with her word search puzzles. Nana enjoyed taking her grandchildren and great grandchildren, to locate the local deer and wildlife.
Vi is survived by her husband of forty six years, Theodore J. “Ted” Giovanini; three children, Jim (Kathy) Soland, Cindy (Steve) Eaton and Paula Jean (Ben) Babich and her step daughter, Jodie McLaren; 13 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren; and sister, June (Frank) Siddon.
She was preceded by her three brothers, Arthur, Herman and Francis Konow and her precious Pomeranian, Lily, who also perished in the fire.
