Obituary of Brian Anthony Sterling

Brian Anthony Sterling, age 37, of Shorewood, passed away on Thursday, March 1, 2018 at Presence St. Joseph Medical Center with his loving family by his side.

 He was born June 29, 1980 in Aurora, IL, and was a 1998 graduate of Plainfield Central High School where he played trumpet in the high school band and was a member of the Wildcats hockey team.  He was also a member of the Joliet Jaguars traveling ice hockey team.  He worked as a warehouseman for Amazon, Inc. in their order fulfillment department.

Brian loved music and had a passion for computers and gaming.  He was a gentle giant who will be remembered for his heart of gold, his generosity, and his caring personality.  He was the heart of his family and will never be forgotten.

Surviving are his beloved parents, James Thomas “Tom” and Joy (nee Ottinger) Sterling of Shorewood; his devoted brother, Blake (Odeta) Sterling of Naperville; two loving nieces, Gianna and Emma Sterling; and a dear maternal grandmother, Linda Ottinger of Aurora.  Many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends also survive.

He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, James and Beatrice Dowdy; and maternal grandfather, Charles Ottinger.

Visitation for Brian Sterling will be held Saturday, March 3, 2018 from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. at Fred C.
