Obituary of Martha Ann Owen

Martha Ann Owen
(nee Przybylski)

Age 91, a lifelong Joliet area resident, passed away on Friday, June 01, 2018, at her daughters home, surrounded by her family.  Born on September 10, 1926, she was the daughter of the late Andrew and Elizabeth (nee Nieznanski) Przybylski.  Martha retired from the Will County Health Department with 24 years of dedicated service.  A proud lifelong Chicago Cubs fan, Martha was happy to “Fly the W” and to see the Cubs win the World Series.

She was a devoted 60 year parishioner of St. Bernard Catholic Church.  Martha volunteered for various organizations at the church, including serving as a Eucharistic Minister and was a member of the senior sewing group.  She was also a member of the Joanna Knights.

Martha took great joy in making cakes for every occasion.  Her creations, especially wedding cakes, were enjoyed at many family gatherings.

Martha is survived by her loving children, Tony (Pat) Owen, Barb Owen and Jeff (Jacki) Owen and her four cherished grandchildren, Ryan (Selena) Huff, Cameron Huff, Grace Owen and Faith Owen.  Many nieces and nephews also survive.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Donald A. Owen (1977); her parents; and her siblings, William Przybylski, Matthew Przybylski, Veronica Stawiarski and Elizabeth Latek.
