Obituary of Sharon R. Stewart

Sharon R. Stewart, nee Harshfield, age 73, a longtime Joliet, IL resident, passed away Wednesday July 3, 2019 at Silver Cross Hospital in New Lenox, IL.

Born July 20, 1945 in Sioux City, IA to Charlotte (nee Porter) and Keith Harshfield, she graduated from Joliet Township High School and was a Beautician at the hair salon in JC Penney and also Tom’s House of Beauty.

Beloved wife of 54 years to Charles L. “Chuck” Stewart; loving mother of Preston “Guy” (Mary) Stewart, Thomas Stewart and Michelle Stewart; devoted grandmother of Nicole (Delwin) Fields, Megan Adler, Sara Adler, Valerie Stewart, Kevin Stewart and Savior Basgen; proud great grandmother of several great grandchildren; and dear sister of Marlene (Richard) Hogue, Kelly (Michael) Pavlik and Bruce Harshfield.  Many nieces and nephews also survive.

She was preceded in death by her parents, two great grandchildren, Nickoli Tillman and Kayden Brown; and two brothers, Keith and James Harshfield.

Although Sharon looked forward to playing bingo, there was nothing more special to her than holiday and family gatherings when she was surrounded by her family.

A Memorial Gathering for Sharon Stewart will be held at a later date and interment will be in Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery in Elwood, IL.
