I've known Nina for almost 30 years. When I was young, she taught me to be true to myself no matter what else was expected of me in life. She listened and never judged. She loved and never questioned. The world was a brighter place with her in it. And we are better people for having loved her.

I am attending the live memorial
Nina and met while working in the kitchen at Trinity Health
I have so many memories of a shared laugh while clearing trays, or when she taught me the ins and outs of cleaning pots and pans. I always looked forward to working with her.
She was a dear friend and she is missed

I went to St. Francis with Nina and had the pleasure of being her friend and fellow artist for a few years. She was always encouraging me to be open and be myself while also instilling artistic wisdom. It made my day to see her and share coffee breaks between classes to talk about life and our dreams for the future. We shared dinners with our international friends along with many laughs and great memories. I always looked up to her and felt so welcome in her presence. A hug from her was always so heart felt and warm. I'm truly saddened by the loss of this great soul. I wish nothing but love, warmth and comfort for her family and friends in this time of need. Rest in peace and rainbows you strong resilient, goddess!!

May my deepest condolences lay in the hearts of all who loved Nina. I have fond memories of Nina throughout our teenage years. We would play beauty makeover and sing with our fake mics to songs from the 80's. I remember going to Joliet Illinois with Nina in 1993 to visit Ninas Mom. I feel in love with the town. I will always LOVE Nina. She has a special place in my heart. May Nina and my sister Amanda soar in heaven together, enjoying the beauty of their everlasting life. May God Bless!!

Nina’s heart was big. Do you all have a stadium rented out for the memorial service?
Jean, Micheal, George, Megan, Brian, and to her nieces and nephews- Thank you for being a part of Nina’s incredible spirit. She spoke with such love about her family.
Nina and I are lifelong friends. We had the ability to pick up where we left off. We were both creating adventures and challenging ourselves in different parts of the world. We could always come back together conversationally to mine our experiences and find the pieces gold. Conversations were often thoughtful, joyous and punctuated with laughter.
Nina lived life to the fullest. Nina is a life force. The gifts of perspective she has given me time and again in conversation, I can only imagine how many others have been similarly moved. She was grounded in the complexity of individuals and life. Nina was asking the right questions.
I am profoundly sad. It is so interestingly offset though by my knowledge of how, from my limited perspective, she operated in the world. Yes, she would deeply validate my sadness and not rush me through it. Also, she would tell me at the right time that I was a broken record sad sack, and to get a new story to be sad about. Condolences to everyone who was gifted Nina’s vivacious presence.
