Obituary of Robert Charles Gustafik, Jr.
It is with great sorrow that the family of Robert Charles Gustafik Jr announces his passing at age 66 on January 24, 2025, surrounded by his loving family. He was the beloved husband of Tina Gustafik, with whom he would have celebrated 40 years of marriage this year. Together, they raised three children, Rob (Marilyn), Brandi (Jeremy), and Corey (Melissa), 2 fur children Cheeto and Junior, and were further blessed with four grandchildren, Hailee, Ashlynn, Auston, and Evan with additional fur grandchildren of Sammy and Sawyer and Brandi’s Zoo of cats.
Preceded by his parents, Robert Charles Gustafik Sr, Joan (Bergstrom) Prue, stepmother Joan (Schultz) Gustafik, and niece Ashley Gustafik. Robert was a devoted son, husband, father, papa, godfather, brother, uncle, cousin, and coach who was adored by many. He was a loving brother to Joanne (Brian) and Kenneth (Norma) and a cherished uncle to Kelley, Matthew, Michael, Jeremiah, Elias, Melanie and Mitchell. Also godfather to Melanie Ward and Adam Gustafik.
Robert had a heart of gold and would give the shirt off his back for anyone in need. Unless you were a Cubs or Packers fan, he would give you a hard time but still would offer his shirt.
As a coach for his sons' baseball teams, he made a lasting impact on the community and was loved by all who knew him. In recent years, Robert worked as a deli clerk at Mariano’s, following a career in the warehouse industry with Sharp Electronics. Despite facing health challenges and receiving a kidney and liver transplant during the height of the COVID-19 pandemic in September 2020, he continued to fight and persevere with incredible strength and courage.
Robert was cherished for his quick wit, playful spirit, and infectious laughter. He was always the biggest cheerleader for his children and grandchildren, bringing endless joy and encouragement to their lives. Robert will be profoundly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing his boundless energy and love.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that you send plants, that will continue to grow in remembrance.
