Robert Ralph Chimmy
Robert Ralph Chimmy, passed away at the age of 82, on Sunday, February 16, 2025, at St. Joseph Medical Center in Joliet. Bob was born in Chicago, IL, on July 24, 1942, the only son of the late Ralph and Clara (nee Bradtke) Chimmy. He retired from Kraft General Foods as a line mechanic after 30 dedicated years of service.
Bob was a true sports fan who loved the Chicago White Sox. In his free time he enjoyed the challenge of a difficult golf course or the peacefulness of being on the water with a fishing pole in his hand. His family meant more than anything to him, he will be truly missed by all who loved him.
Bob is survived by his children, Robert J. Chimmy, Patricia (Robert T.) Twombly, III, and Thomas E. (Karen) Chimmy; his grandchildren, Ryan Dougherty, Heather A. (Richard Sutton) Twombly, Robert T. (Lynette) Twombly, IV, Zachary T. Twombly, Thomas J. Chimmy, Patrick N. (Kaitlynn) Chimmy, Catherine M. (Nick George) Chimmy, and Tiffany N. Chimmy; his great-grandchildren, Lexi, Audrey, Kinsley, Robert V, Becka, Beverly, Delilah, Blake, Aron, Claire, Makinley, and Bentley; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He is preceded by his loving wife, Gloria J. Chimmy; his parents; and his two sisters, Patricia Ann Chimmy and Nancy (Waters) Chimmy.
Visitation for Robert R. Chimmy will be held at the Fred C. Dames Funeral Home, 3200 Black Rd., Joliet, IL on Saturday, February 22, 2025, from 2:00 p.m. until the time of Funeral Service at 6:00 p.m. As it was his request, cremation rites will be accorded following the services.
