


Obituary of William C. Cavallo
William C. Cavallo, age 92, of Plainfield and formerly Northbrook and Arlington Heights, Illinois, passed peacefully at home, early Saturday morning, March 1, 2025. Bill was born May 13, 1932, to the late Onorina (Bertot) and James Cavallo in Chicago where he was raised and educated.
Bill worked as a Nuclear Physicist early in his career and taught Nuclear Physics, and Calculus at Illinois Benedictine University. He retired as a Trainer for Fuji America. After retiring, Bill loved to travel with his wife, and do the New York Times crossword puzzles he could solve in 10 minutes. Later in life, he was an avid poker player and met weekly with his poker group.
Bill is the beloved father of Ruth (Michael) Koziol and Mark (Rhonda) Cavallo; devoted grandfather of Christopher Koziol, Kaitlyn (Noah) Caldwell, Julia (Aaron) Braddock and Jeremy Cavallo. Bill was anxiously awaiting the arrival of his first great-grandson, due around his birthday in May. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his loving wife, Priscilla; and his sister, Marie Doroba.
Visitation for William C. Cavallo will be Saturday, March 8, 2025, from 9 a.m. until services begin at 11 a.m. at the Fred C. Dames Funeral Home 3200 Black Rd (at Essington Rd) Joliet. Interment will follow at Risen Lord Cemetery in Oswego, IL.
In lieu of flowers, memorials in Bill's name can be made to Lightways Hospice, American Heart Association, or the National Kidney Foundation.
