William K. Murray
William K. Murray, passed away peacefully at the age of 69, on Thursday, March 6, 2025 at Lightways Hospice with his loving family by his side. Bill was born in Joliet, IL, on May 18, 1955, to the late Donald Sr. and Vera Ann (nee Toncrey) Murray. He was a graduate of Joliet Central High School. Bill retired from the City of Joliet Treatment Plant after 36 dedicated years as an Operator.
Bill enjoyed the outdoors and being near any body of water. He enjoyed time out on the boat or relaxing with a fishing pole in his hand. He loved spending time socializing with family and friends.
Bill is survived by his loving wife of 49 years, Sharon (nee Ratkovich) Murray, two sons, Timothy (Wendi) Murray and Michael (Jessica) Murray, three grandchildren, Brett, Lexi, and Leah Murray, and his four sisters, Debbie (Richard) Carden, Donna (Edward) Hart, Lisa (Terry) Tuffy, and Regina Andrews, sister in law Paulette (Jackie Myers) Ratkovich, brother in law Walter J. (Nancy) Ratkovich, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
He is preceded by his parents and brother, Donald Murray, Jr. as well as his in laws Walter and Betty Ratkovich.
Visitation for William K. Murray will be held at the Fred C. Dames Funeral Home, 3200 Black Rd., Joliet, IL on Tuesday, March 11, 2025, from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, March 12, 2025, at the Fred C Dames Funeral Home chapel. Entombment will follow at Woodlawn Memorial Park Mausoleum.
