Obituary of Victoria Delrose
Victoria “Vicki” Delrose
Born: March 24, 1939; in Joliet, IL
Died: March 10, 2025; in Morris, IL
Victoria “Vicki” Delrose passed away peacefully on March 10, 2025, in Morris, Illinois, at the age of 85.
Vicki was the devoted wife of the late Arrie A. Delrose for 61 years and a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She is survived by her four children, Kerry (Fred) Delrose, Michael (Cheryl) Delrose, Mark Delrose, and Julie (David) Shugan; six grandchildren, Chad (Emma) Delrose, Alyssa (Stefan) Marinkovic, Paige Delrose, Caelan Delrose, Zach Shugan, and Dylan Shugan; and five sweet great-grandchildren. She is also remembered fondly by extended family and dear friends.
Vicki was born and raised in Joliet, Illinois, where she began a life filled with creativity, love, and generosity. She had a strong eye for fashion and design, was an excellent cook, and took great pride in making holidays and special gatherings meaningful and memorable. Her heart was always with her family - and her home was where everyone felt welcome.
She was actively involved in community and charitable organizations including the Visitation and Aid Society, Caritas, and Jubilation. Vicki loved giving back, always lending her time and energy with grace.
Together, Vicki and Arrie traveled the world, always ready for a new adventure. They began vacationing in Florida in the 1960s, eventually owning a beachfront home in 1978 and several homes in golf course communities throughout the years. Florida wasn’t just where they retired - it was a second home filled with memories, friendships, and businesses they built together. They remained active in their community and spent countless days golfing, hosting friends, and enjoying life.
Some of Vicki’s happiest moments were spent at the family lake house in Michigan - laughing with her children, playing cards, sharing stories, and soaking up time together. Vicki was also a lifelong animal lover, and her beloved dogs, Mandy and Lexi, brought her endless joy over the years.
She taught her family the importance of kindness, the joy of entertaining, and the strength that comes from love and loyalty. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
A sincere “Thank you” goes out to all of you who knew and spent time with Vicki and helped to enrich her life, and through her, our lives. Our family deeply appreciates all the thoughts and prayers that have been sent our way.
A private visitation and short service for family members and extended family only will be held on April 11, 2025. Please visit her memorial tribute at www.fredcdames.com where you can share a favorite memory or leave a condolence.
