Dennis Jensen

Obituary of Dennis Jensen

On March 6, 2025, Dennis D. Jensen of Wenona, IL, passed away at the age of 67, in Morris, IL.

Born to Don and Betty Jensen on August 16, 1957, Dennis was raised and resided in Wenona, IL, his entire life. The oldest of three, Dennis would never be too far from his brothers, Tom (Paula) of Rutland, IL, and Alan of Wenona, IL.  The three brothers spent several years working on and showing cars, playing in their rock band, and going into the family business together.

Throughout his life, Dennis had many talents and passions.  He was the lead singer and also played keyboards and his self-painted blue saxophone for his band, Justice.  Dennis was an excellent woodworker who could create just about anything he could think up, with store-like quality.  He could figure out and fix just about anything.  One of the most naturally talented human beings many have ever met, Dennis was a walking DIY video before the internet was even invented.

Prior to his retirement, Dennis was employed by his parents’ trucking company, Jensen Trucking, for over 30 years.  Dennis will be remembered as a funny, witty, and fiercely loyal friend, who loved being around people having fun.  For this reason, it only made sense for him to transition to bartending after his retirement from the trucking business.  In recent years, he was a constant at some local establishments, as the smiling face behind the bar, ready to get you your usual and some good conversation.

Dennis was very proud of his children and grandchildren and their own unique talents and passions.   Dennis is survived by his 5 children: Rebecca Palm of Foristell, MO,  Nick (Abby) Jensen of Morris, IL, Mike (Lisa) Jensen of Duvall, WA, Samantha (Zach) Bernardi of Wauwatosa, WI, and Ashley (Joe) Hendershott of Pontiac, IL; 12 grandchildren: Riley Palm, Mason Palm, Grady Jensen, Garner Jensen, Archer Jensen, Celia Jensen, Charlotte Jensen, Lily Jensen, Ivan Bernardi, Josie Bernardi, Karsyn Hendershott, and Zoey Hendershott; and his brothers, Tom and Alan.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Don and Betty.
