Obituary of Dorothy R. Brock

Age 76, of Joliet, Illinois, passed from this life, Monday, March 10, 2025, at her home.  She was born on April 17, 1948, to the late Luella (Ousley) and Albert Brock in Clarkedale, Arkansas.

Dorothy is the beloved mother of Florestine Brock, Leslie Brock, Johnny Joe Lindsey, Jr, and April Brock. She also leaves to mourn her passing her sisters, Ruby Range and Charlie Woods; two brothers, James Brock and Thomas Brock; and a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her parents; four children, Vernessa Lindsey, Laterica Brock, Shawn Lindsey and Travis Lindsey; brother, Albert Brock; sister, Annie Mae Edinburgh; and two grandchildren, Archie Brock and Shakya Ivy.

Dorothy was feisty, strong, and outspoken. Listening to audio books was her favorite hobby, easily get lost in a story. She was an avid teapot collector. Her days were a balance of listening to her favorite country and blues, and watching shows like Walker Texas Ranger, Murder She Wrote, Miss Marple, and Criminal Minds. Dorothy loved nothing more than her family. She lived her life well and all who knew her loved her.
