James B. "Jim" Biros
James B. “Jim” Biros, age 78, of Morris, IL passed away Thursday, March 20, 2025 surrounded by his loving family. He was born May 31, 1946 in Morris to the late Mary Kathryn (nee Poole) and John Biros, Jr.
Jim grew up on the family farm in Mazon, IL and graduated from MVK High School. He earned his Bachelors Degree in Education from Eastern Illinois University, his Masters Degree in Education Administration from Illinois State University, and was just a few credits away from earning his Doctorate. He spent his entire career in Morris School District 54. He started his career at Center School, taught math and science at Shabbona School, and was principal at Garfield and Franklin Schools for many years.
Jim was an outdoorsman on many levels, spending his entire life farming on the family farm and as a hobby farmer. He grew pumpkins, sweet corn, sunflowers, cotton, peanuts, and Indian corn just to name a few. He also enjoyed hunting, fishing, and “messing around.”
Jim never met a stranger and was known as the neighborhood watch-man. He knew all his neighbors and kept up with all the news. His favorite TV show was the Andy Griffith Show and his favorite channel was the Food Network. He was a Green Bay Packer fan and collected antique John Deere Tractors.
Mr. B. will be remembered for his love of children and watching them learn and grow.
He is the beloved husband of Diana “Granny” Biros, for 57 years; loving dad of Kristi Meece, Kori (David) Mayberry, and John (Melisa) Biros; adoring Pappy to Sarah, Lynnsey, Johnathan, and James Meece, Madison, Mitchell, and Moriah Mayberry, Kayli, Alexa, Johnny, and Nicolette Biros; dear bother to Barbara (Roger) Lund and William (the late Eileen) Biros. Many nieces, nephews and dear friends also survive.
Visitation for Jim will be Monday, March 24, 2025, from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Fred C. Dames Funeral Home 1201 W. Route 6 (at Deerpath Drive), Morris, IL. Funeral Services will be private for the family. Inurnment will be at Mt. Carmel Cemetery, Morris, at a later date.
