Obituary of Steven Andrew Flood

Steven Andrew Flood, age 64, of Shorewood, passed away peacefully at Lightways Hospice, surrounded by the love of his family, on Sunday, March 23, 2025.

Steven was born in Chicago, IL, on June 1, 1960, the son of the late Michael and Janet (nee Steiner) Flood, and was a graduate of Proviso East High School with the Class of 1978.  Steven was a proud Union Laborer with Local 75 for many years, and also plowed snow for the Illinois Department of Transportation during the winter months. 

In his free time Steven enjoyed spending time on the golf course and socializing with his friends.  His family meant the world to him.

Steven is survived by his wife, Sharon Lynn (nee McDowell) Flood; his two daughters, Alyse (Stuart) Kadlec and Amanda Flood; three granddaughters, Audrey Flood, Jasmine Ramones, and Madison Kadlec; his five siblings, Michael (Donna) Flood, Laura (the late Tom) Vesley, Daniel (Julie) Flood, Diane (Gregg) Mason, and William (Patricia) Flood; and an aunt, Violet (the late William) Steiner.  Numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins also survive.

He is preceded in death by his parents.

A Memorial Gathering for Steven Andrew Flood will be held on Wednesday, April 2, 2025, at the Fred C. Dames Funeral Home, 3200 Black Rd., Joliet, IL from 4:00 p.m. until the time of a Memorial Service at 8:00 p.m.  As it was his request, cremation rites have been accorded and interment will be private.
