Obituary of Christina Marie Borth
Christina Marie “Chrissy” Borth, age 61, of Joliet, IL, passed away peacefully on the morning of Saturday, March 29, 2025, at Northwestern Memorial Hospital in Chicago, surrounded by the love of her family.
Born on July 3, 1963, in Joliet, IL, to Dolores (Perez) and the late William Marquez, Chrissy brought warmth, laughter, and love to all who knew her. She was the beloved wife of 25 years to Joseph “Joe” Borth, a devoted and adoring mother to Jeremy (Sonia) Saragossa and Adam Saragossa, and a proud, doting grandmother to Iszek, Olivia, Tilliana, and William. She was the cherished daughter of Dolores Marquez and a loving sister to Linda (the late Raymond) McDade, Rita (Joe) Salazar, LeRoy Marquez, and Kathy (John) Romo. Chrissy’s love extended to many - her aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends - all of whom will miss her deeply. Her faithful canine companion, Milo, was always by her side, providing comfort and unconditional love.
Chrissy was preceded in death by her father, William Marquez; her brother-in-law, William Daniels; her grandparents; her mother-in-law, Linda C. Borth; her best friend, Lori A. Mussario; her niece, Tina Daniels; and her great-niece, baby Jayden Romo.
After 27 years of dedicated service with the Illinois State Police, Chrissy recently retired, ready to embrace new adventures. A true “beach girl” at heart, she found her greatest joy in the sun, sand, and ocean waves, treasuring every moment spent in Hawaii, Florida, and Jamaica. Yet, nothing compared to the thrill of riding alongside her “Joey” on their Harley, exploring the open road and making memories together.
More than anything, Chrissy’s heart belonged to her family. Time together - whether big celebrations or quiet, everyday moments - meant everything to her. Her love, kindness, and radiant spirit will live on in the hearts of those who knew her, for all time.
A visitation to honor and celebrate Chrissy’s life will be held on Monday, April 7, 2025, from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Fred C. Dames Funeral Home, 3200 Black Rd., Joliet, IL. Friends and family will gather once more on Tuesday, April 8, 2025, at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Catholic Church at 11 a.m., 205 E. Jackson St, Joliet, IL where her Memorial Mass will be celebrated. The Luncheon will be held at Ingalls Park A.C. at 1 p.m., 20 N Park Rd, Joliet, IL to celebrate the life of Christina M. Borth.
