Obituary of Diana Fritz
Diana Fritz, of Plainfield, passed away surrounded by family on Wednesday, April 2, 2025, at St. Joseph Medical Center in Joliet, at the age of 80. She was born on September 26, 1944, in Chicago, the daughter of the late David and Helen (née Franowski) Urlich.
Diana is survived by her devoted husband of 35 years, Donald C. Fritz, and her loving daughters, Alycia Green (née Bednarzyk) and Juli Bednarzyk Grenchik (William C. Grenchik). She was the cherished grandmother of Ethan, Benjamin, and Alexander Green, sons of Alycia. She is also survived by her stepson, Donald Fritz and his wife, Jen (née Mehelich); as well as many dear friends and extended family.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, Jerry Bednarzyk; and her sister, Carol Annerino (née Urlich). She also leaves behind her beloved German Shepherd, Sadie, who never left her side.
Later in life, Diana discovered a deep passion and talent for painting, particularly landscapes and animals. What began as a fun evening at Paint and Sip event blossomed into a beloved hobby, through which she found joy, expression, and serenity.
Diana will be remembered for her gentle spirit, artistic eye, deep love for her family, and her quiet strength. She touched many lives and will be dearly missed.
As it was her request, cremation rites have been accorded. A celebration of life is being planned for mid-May.
