Obituary of Jeannette F. Boggs
It is with both sadness and joy that the Family of Jeannette Boggs announces her passing from this life on earth on April 13, 2025, and the joy of her new life in Heaven with her husband, Bud, and all the family waiting for her. Jeannette was born on October 17, 1930, in Channahon, and lived her life there until her declining health led to her moving closer to her daughter.
She is preceded by her husband, Charles “Bud” Boggs (2003); her parents, Harold and Mabel (Seeman) Randolp; her brother, Harold Randolph, Jr. and his wife Mary Boggs; and her sister, Helen and her husband, Toddy Williams.
She is survived by her son, Kurt (friend Connie) of Illinois; her daughter, Janine Boggs, (husband Bruce Moody) of Kentucky; her grandchildren, Cheryl Attwood and Jennifer (Tom) Martens of Minnesota, and Kevin (Megan) Boggs of Illinois; her great-grandchildren, Jake (Marissa) Attwood, Jenna Lawhorn, Katlyn (Spenser) Larson, Trevor and Isabelle Martens, Matthew and Addelyn Boggs, and Ellen and Madison Nunkovich ; and great-great-grandchildren, Grace and Shawn Lawhorn and Theodore Attwood. She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and cousins, including special nieces, Sandy Fodero, Sharon Feeney and Susan Boudreau; special nephews, Tom “Hoss” Williams (Lynn) and Dennis Randolph.
She was a member of the Channahon United Methodist church for over 70 years and served many roles in the church, including Sunday School Teacher and Bible School Leader, member and past president of the United Methodist Women’s club (formerly WSCS), and member of the Ladies Aid Circle and Thrift Shop Ladies.“Jeannette and Bud” had 54 happy years together creating a family that never doubted we were loved. We have such wonderful memories of our times with them. There were family vacations every year and Sunday dinner was a weekly ritual where there was always a fresh-baked desert to top off the meal. Each of them had their own chair in the living room. Bud’s had a transistor radio next to it to listen to the ball game of the day and Jeannette’s, was full of string, yarn, or material scraps, depending on what the project was that day. She was always crocheting, sewing, or doing needlepoint or plastic canvas, donating items to nursing homes and making gifts for family and friends. She continued her crafting while in assisted living and sold or gave her homemade items to many people. Jeannette’s final years were spent at Evenglow Assisted Living, then the Nursing Home where she had many friends and was well cared for. Their kindness and care of her is greatly appreciated by her family.
There will be a celebration of her life on May 10, 2025, at the Channahon United Methodist Church with visitation from 10 am until the time of service at 11 a.m. There will be a Luncheon to follow. She will be interred privately at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery in Elwood, IL, with her husband at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the Evenglow Staff Christmas Fund or the Channahon United Methodist Church Kitchen Fund.
