Obituary of Lou Ann Kinney

Lou Ann Kinney passed away peacefully at Willow Falls, on Saturday, April 12, 2025, at the age of 90.  Born and raised in Joliet, Lou Ann and her brother, Raymond, owned and operated Ray Kinney Motors Jeep Dealership on Center and Jefferson Streets in Joliet. Lou Ann was also co-owner of Kinn-Shaw Gifts and Lawn Décor with Cheryl Shaw.  She co-owned The Travel Corner with Kathryn McKeon.  Lou Ann loved the Kankakee River, boating and just being with friends.   She was a graduate of St. Patrick’s Grade School and St. Francis Academy (JCA) and was a member of Queen of Apostles Catholic Church. Lou Ann was a good friend and Associate to the Sisters of St. Francis of Mary Immaculate.

Lou Ann is survived by special friend, Cheryl Shaw, several cousins and numerous friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Raymond and Loretta (nee O’Reilly) Kinney, her brother, Raymond C. Kinney and numerous aunts and uncles.

In lieu of flowers, memorials in her name to The Sisters of St. Francis of Mary Immaculate would be greatly appreciated. 

Funeral services for Lou Ann Kinney will be Wednesday, April 23, 2025, at 9:15 a.m. from the Fred C. Dames Funeral Home, 3200 Black Rd., Joliet, IL, to St. John the Baptist Catholic Church where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. Interment will follow at Woodlawn Memorial Cemetery.  Visitation will be on Tuesday from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
