Obituary of Richard E. Kraus

Richard E. Kraus passed away peacefully on Monday, May 12, 2025, at St. Anthony Medical Center in Rockford, IL at the age of 62. He was born on January 26, 1963, to the late Robert and Barbara (Watson) Kraus in Chicago, IL, and later moved to Morris, IL. He was a Heat and Frost Insulator through Local Union 17.

Survived by his siblings, Bob (Jan), Sue and Randy (Eileen) Kraus; nieces and nephews, Mark, Kevin, Scott, and Jessica and many great-nieces and great-nephews.

Preceded in death by his wife, Peggy (Welch) Kraus (2017).

Visitation for Richard E. Kraus will be held on Thursday, May 15, 2025, from 3:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. at Fred C. Dames Funeral Home, 1201 W. Route 6 at Deerpath Drive in Morris. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, May 16, 2025 at 10:00 a.m. at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, 600 E. Jackson Street, Morris. Interment will follow at Mt. Carmel Cemetery in Morris.
