

Obituary of Arthur W. Weiss
Age 93, of Joliet, IL, passed away peacefully at his home on Monday, June 9, 2025. Arthur was born on September 20, 1931 in Joliet, IL, and was a lifelong resident. He was the son of Linda F. (Schneider) and Arthur W. Weiss, Sr.
After a distinguished United States Naval career, having received a Korean Service Medal with a Bronze Star among other awarded medals and ribbons, Arthur retired from Commonwealth Edison Company as a manager, power supply.
He became a member of the VFW Cantigny Post 367 in 1952 and remained a life member.
Arthur is survived by his three sons, John A. (Cyndi) Weiss of Shawnee, KS, James A. (Ligia) Weiss of Joliet, IL and Jay A. (Sonja) Weiss of Naperville, IL; his daughter, Judi A. Weiss of Chicago, IL; grandchildren, Krista Hogue, Rachel L. Weiss, Zachary A. Weiss, Alexis M. Weiss, Ashley Ann Weiss and Andrew J. Weiss; three great-grandchildren also survive.
He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Anna Mae Weiss (July 4, 1991); his parents; sister, Doris E. (Leonard “Ike”) Eichelberger and brother, Donald L. (Clara) Weiss.
In lieu of flowers, memorials to the Shriners Children’s Hospital.
Funeral services for Arthur W. Weiss were held privately by his family. Interment took place at St. Mary Nativity, Joliet.
