Obituary of Bonnie Ardaugh

Age 84, of Joliet, Illinois, passed away peacefully, surrounded by family, Thursday evening, June 12, 2025.

Bonnie was born March 3, 1941, to the late Irene (Wascher) and Donald F. Webber in Aurora, Illinois, where she was raised and educated. She was a graduate with the class of 1958 from Madonna High School and earned an Associate’s Degree from Aurora College.

She is preceded in death by her beloved husband of 46 years, Leo Ardaugh; her parents; infant son, Leo; mother and father-in-law, Alice and Maurice Ardaugh; in-laws, Marialice Horn, Donald Ardaugh, Dennis Ardaugh, and A.J. Christafaro.

Surviving are three sons and a daughter, Philip (Alice) Ardaugh of Joliet, Thomas (Ann) Ardaugh of Lockport, Joseph (Jennifer) Ardaugh of Crest Hill, and Carolyn Ardaugh of Crest Hill; nine grandchildren, Abigail, Andrew, Matthew, Erin, and Megan Ardaugh, Matthew and Brandon Chaparro, and Joseph and Madelyn Fagan; her sister, Connie Webber; in-laws, Al Horn, Leonard (Sandra) Ardaugh, Carol (Thomas) McCafferty, Eleanor Picard, John (Donna) Ardaugh, Kathy (Russ) Thontlin, Jim (Julie) Ardaugh, Rita Ardaugh, Bernadette Ardaugh, Valerie Ardaugh, Theresa Christofaro, Suzanne (Phil) Spring;  and many nieces, nephews and cousins also survive. 

Bonnie, a devout Catholic, taught religious education for over 50 years at various parishes throughout the Joliet Diocese.  She lived a full, Catholic-based life, with family being paramount and her grandchildren her primary focus in her “golden” years.

Her daughter and sons will remain eternally grateful for all the wonderful care Bonnie’s extended family had shown her in her final days.

Visitation for Bonnie will be Sunday, June 15, 2025, from 3:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the Fred C. Dames Funeral Home, 3200 Black Rd. (at Essington Rd) Joliet.  Funeral services will begin Monday morning, June 16, 2025, at 9:15 a.m. from the funeral home to St. Mary Nativity Catholic Church, 706 N. Broadway St, Joliet where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m.  Interment will follow in Resurrection Cemetery, Romeoville. IL.
