

Obituary of Kim Elliott
Ok Cha "Kim" Elliott, age 83, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, July 2, 2025, in Elwood, Illinois. She was born on December 29, 1941 in South Korea.
Kim immigrated to the United States and married the love of her life, John Elliott with whom she enjoyed 42 years of love and friendship.
Kim is survived by her devoted children, Tammy Abdulghani, John Elliott, Jr., and Kimberly (Bob) Libman. She was a proud grandmother to Benjamin Kozuh, Logan and Ameena Abdulghani, and Alex and Josh Libman; brother-in-law, Bill (Anita) Elliott; a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins who will remember her fondly as well as several good friends.
She is preceded in death by her loving husband of 42 years, John R. Elliott, and her father, Sok San Kim and her mother Yon Hwa Pak; in-laws, Sharon Richie, Elaine Boros, Edward and Thomas Elliott; and several brothers and sisters in Korea.
Throughout her life, Ok Cha exemplified kindness and care, always ready with a kind word or helping hand. Her memory will be cherished by all who had the privilege to know her, and her legacy of compassion and strength will live on through the generations she nurtured and inspired. She loved to entertain making sure all had ample opportunity to indulge in her culinary delights from her home Country. If Kim wasn't cooking or gardening, you could find her playing bingo several times a week or rooting on her beloved Chicago Cubs.
Family and friends are invited to gather Friday, July 11, 2025, from 9:00 a.m. until a Memorial Service for Kim, which begins at 10: 45 a.m., at the Fred C. Dames Funeral Home, 3200 Black Rd. (at Essington Rd) in Joliet. Committal prayers and Inurnment will follow at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery in Elwood, IL.
