Michael W. Bogart
Age 68, of Morris and formerly Joliet, Illinois passed from this life on Wednesday July 2, 2025 after a hard battle with cancer.
He was born November 14, 1956 to the late Shirley (Seeman) and Ronald Bogart in Joliet where he was raised and educated, a student of Joliet East High School who joined the Marines, earning his GED. Mike also completed the PMEL program while in the Corp.
Mike was a proud United States Marine Corp Veteran.serving during the Vietnam war as a radar technician. He was proud to wear his black leather jacket with either the Marine Corp logo or Vietnam War patch.
Mike is the beloved husband of nearly 45 years to Jan (Johnson) Bogart; loving father of Wayne (Katie) Bogart, Lauralyn (Kenneth) Randles and Anthony (Minara) Bogart; proud grandfather of Kaylee and Connor Randles; Titus and Ronan Bogart; dear brother of Nancy Clark.
Preceded in death by his parents and brother, Ronnie Bogart.
He was employed as a forklift operator at Clearwater Paper Products which recently changed to Sofidel in Elwood.
Mike's hobbies were woodworking and renovations, anything with tools. He enjoyed spending time with his children and grandchildren. He also enjoyed going for short jaunts with his wife for lunch or coffee and diet coke. Mike also enjoyed talking, joking and making people laugh.
As it was Mike's wish, cremation rites have been accorded and his final earthly remains will be interred privately at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery in Elwood, IL.
