Obituary of Anthony David Pfieffer

Anthony David Pfieffer, passed away peacefully on July 18, 2025, in Joliet, Illinois, at Eden Vista of Rock Run surrounded by the love of his family, at the age of 82. He was born on March 23, 1943 in Chicago, IL, the son of the late Edward and Stella (Kantowski) Pfieffer.

Anthony proudly served in the United States Army, and he retired from the Chicago Sun-Times after 40 years of dedicated service.

Anthony is survived by his loving daughter, Leslie (Jason) Vavra; devoted grandfather of Jay (Jenny) Robertson, Anthony (Jocelyn) Robertson, and Ronald (Randi) Robertson; and proud great-grandfather of seven

He is preceded in death by his wife, Patricia; brother, Thomas; and sisters, Dolores and Margaret.

Visitation for Anthony David Pfieffer will be held on Monday, July 28, 2025, at the Fred C. Dames Funeral Home, 3200 Black Rd., Joliet, IL, from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the Funeral Service at 10:30 a.m. Interment will follow at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery with full military honors held under the auspices of the United States Army and the Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery Memorial Squad.

 

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimers Association.
