Obituary of Terri Taylor
It is with profound sadness and heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Terri Taylor, on Saturday, October 18, 2025, after an unexpected, brief illness. She was born in Joliet on November 29, 1961 and was a lifelong resident.
Terri was the light in our lives and an ever-present source of support and love that can never be replaced. She was always there with a genuine smile and a kind word. Her spirit and goodness will live on in each of us all for the rest of our lives.
Terri graduated from Joliet Central High School in 1979 and the College of St. Francis in 1983. She owned and operated Persona Grata Hair Salon in Shorewood, Illinois for over 35 years.
Terri was active in the Zonta Women’s Club and received the Zontian Woman of the Year Award. Her favorite project was cleaning and sorting gently used, donated jewelry, which was taken to numerous area grade schools where students would select pieces to gift their mothers for Mother’s Day. She was also involved with the Visitation and Aide Society. Terri’s and Tracy’s annual Christmas Boutique at the hair salon was always well received. Because of her unique decorating skills, the salon was transformed into a Winter Wonderland where Christmas gifts could be purchased; an event always loved by everyone. She loved shopping, good food, concerts and spending time with family and friends. Terri cherished working in her garden and received a Good Neighbor Pride Award by the City of Joliet. She loved her HGTV, QVC and Hallmark Channels. Terri will be missed by family, co-workers and many, many friends.
Terri is survived by her mother, Jeanne V. (Joe) Paluga; Life Partner, Craig Voigts; sister, Tracy (Eugene) Lorenc; brother, Todd (Rebecca)Taylor; and her nieces and nephews, Adam (Jeanne) Lorenc, Aaron (Ana) Lorenc, Bella Taylor, Jack Taylor, Sharla (Rob) Chadwick, Leslee Flanigan, Mark Voigts, Rachel Chadwick, Caileigh (Alex) Chadwick, Lauren Chadwick, Meagan Flanigan, Erin (Joe) Napolitano, Katie Flanigan, Britanny Collins and Tiffany (Eddie) Collins, Eddie (Katie) Flanigan, Liam Flanigan and Brandon.
