Obituary of Michael Earl English
Michael Earl English
Michael Earl English, of Channahon, formerly of Mt. Prospect and Plainfield, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, November 5, 2025, at the age of 74.
Born December 23, 1950, in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, Michael was the son of the late John Sheridan and Elizabeth (Henley) English. He was a proud graduate of Fox Chapel High School and continued his education at Point Park College.
After a career working for Rockwell International in Point Breeze (Pittsburgh), Mike enjoyed a long and successful career as a Regional Sales Manager in industrial, commercial, and municipal sales for Rotork, Porter Pipe, Pentair, Red Valve, Emerson, and others. A current member of the Elks Lodge No. 296, and formerly of the local in Etna, Pennsylvania, he valued his neighbors and friendships deeply.
Mike was known for his generous spirit, quirky sense of humor, and unwavering dedication to family and friends. He had an eclectic taste in music, a passion for antique cars, and a love of scuba diving, traveling, and discovering new restaurants. An animal lover and lifelong helper, Mike found joy in lending a hand and keeping loved ones connected—he was the glue that held his family and friendships together. Ever thoughtful and curious, he looked for meaning in everything he did.
Surviving are his son, Jason Michael (Maureen) English; grandchildren, Jason Jr., Isabella, Sophia, Penelope, and Amelia English; his loving companion of 35+ years, Esther Honda; and his brothers, Stephen English and Gary (Judith) English. Numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins also survive.
He was preceded in death by his parents and by his good friend, Bill Dyson.
