

Obituary of Harold Ray Hogan, Jr.
Harold Ray Hogan Jr, age 74, of Diamond, Illinois, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his loving family on November 6, 2025. Born on August 7, 1951, in San Bernadino, California, “Super” Ray lived a life marked by devotion, service and unwavering support for those he loved. He is survived by his beloved partner, Rhonda Reano, and their cherished fur baby, Maggie May of Diamond, IL. Harold was a proud father to Ray (Michele) Hogan of Coal City, and Kristi (Matt) Huff of Alpharetta, Georgia. He was a deeply loved grandfather to Jaren Brewick, Gavin (fiancée Josie Knepp) Brewick, Kalyn Hogan, Lauren Huff, Savanna Huff, and Mason Huff. He is also survived by his brothers, Richard Hogan of Alabama and Bill (Arlene) Hogan of California, along with several nieces and nephews.
Ray was preceded in death by his parents, Harold Ray Hogan Sr. and Betty Jo Hogan of Alabama; his brother, Tom Hogan; and his sister, Sharon Hogan.
He enlisted in the United States Navy in May of 1969 and honorably served during the Vietnan War until his discharge in January 1971. He was a proud member of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers Local 1460. His career included dedicated service at Commonwealth Edison Collins Station and Midwest Generation of Will County before his retirement.
Ray’s passions included karaoke, riding his Harley, bowling, and fishing. He also found great joy in being “Santa’s helper” during the holiday season. He was known for his quick wit, steadfast presence, and generous spirit. As a father and grandfather, he was loving, proud, and always supportive, which will live on in the strength of his family.
Visitation will be held at Fred C. Dames Funeral Home, 1201 W. Route 6 at Deerpath Drive in Morris, IL on Sunday, November 9, 2025, from 2:00 p.m. - 5:00 p.m. Private burial with military honors will be held at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery in Elwood, IL. Super Ray will be deeply missed and forever remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
