Obituary of Raymond "Ray" Gonzalez
Raymond Gonzalez passed away peacefully, at the age of 72, on Sunday, November 16, 2025, at Loyola University Medical Center with his loving family by his side. He was born on June 20, 1953, in Edcouch, TX, to the late Adolfo and Guadalupe (nee Mendez) Gonzalez.
Ray retired from Toyal America after 32 years of dedicated service. He was a passionate fan of the Chicago White Sox and the Dallas Cowboys. His love for outdoors carried into his retirement, where he found joy working in landscaping, and fishing any chance he could. Ray also enjoyed the fun of playing poker with his family. His greatest pride was his family. He adored watching his grandchildren play sports, cheering them on with a smile on his face.
Ray is survived by his loving wife, Donna Jean; children, Anthony Gonzalez (Natalie Church), Krystina (Ken) Morman, Alisa (Aaron) Galvan, Corinna Gonzalez, Valerie Gonzalez, and Cynthia Gonzalez; grandchildren, Brooklyn, Mckenzie, Katrina, Jasmine, Tyrone, Khaleel, Nakeisha, Angelo, Guadalupe, and Francisco; seven great-grandchildren; sister, Eva Galvan; brother, Juan (Lydia) Gonzalez; and sister-in-law, Eulalia Gonzalez.
He was preceded in death by his sisters, Felicita Rivera and Lillian Gutierrez; brother, Carlos Gonzalez; and brother-in-law, Domingo Galvan.
Visitation for Ray Gonzalez will be held on Sunday, November 23, 2025, at the Fred C. Dames Funeral Home, 3200 Black Rd., Joliet, IL, from 1:00 p.m. until the time of the Funeral Service at 6:00 p.m. Due to his request, cremation rites will be accorded following the services.
