Obituary of Nancy K. Butscher

Age 79 of Shorewood, IL, passed away peacefully at Lightways Hospice on Tuesday, November 25, 2025, with her loving husband at her side.  She was born on July 29, 1946, in Joliet, and was a lifelong area resident. 

Nancy retired from Amita Health Saint Joseph Medical Center as a Registered Nurse after 42 years of dedicated service. She led in many roles as the Cardiac Rehab Manager, a Case Manager, and a Nursing Supervisor on many floors at the hospital.

She is survived by her loving husband, Raymond R. Butscher; her sons, Raymond M. (Veronica) Butscher, and Joseph M. (Kimberlee) Butscher; her daughter, Amy (Edward) Fix; grandchildren, Matthew R. Butscher, Augustus Joseph Butscher, Leo Benedict Butscher, Ava Lynn Fix; sister, Mary Ann (Phil) Alberico, and several nieces and nephews.

Preceded in death by her parents, Matthew J. and Mary C. (Rolando) Kunke; brother, James Kunke; and nephew, Peter J. Schultz.

Funeral Services for Nancy K. Butscher will be held on Wednesday, December 3, 2025 at Holy Family Catholic Church, 600 N. Brookforest Dr., Shorewood for a  Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. Visitation for Nancy Butscher will be held Tuesday, December 2, 2025, from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., at the Fred C. Dames Funeral Home, 3200 Black Rd. (at Essington Rd) Joliet.

In lieu of flowers, memorials contributions in her name may be made to Catholic Charities or Lightways Hospice.
