Geraldine Elizabeth Heintz, age 87, passed away peacefully on Saturday, November 29, 2025, at Lightways Hospice and Serious Illness Care.  Geri was born on December 26, 1937, in Fort Monroe, VA, the daughter of the late Leslie Albert and Alice Elizabeth (nee Huff) Burk.

 

Geri was a dedicated volunteer for multiple organizations, specifically Veterans groups.

 

Geri is survived by daughter, Karen (nee Andreae) McAleese; stepdaughters, Karen A. (nee Heintz) Goodson and Lenore (nee Heintz) Tobin; eight grandchildren, and several great-grandchildren, and sister-in-law, Pat Makeever.

 

She is preceded in death by her husband, Donald L. Heintz; son, Bruce Andreae; and her sister, Anne Marie. 

 

A Memorial Gathering for Geraldine Elizabeth Heintz will be held on Saturday, December 20, 2025, at the Fred C. Dames Funeral Home, 3200 Black Rd., Joliet, IL, from 1:00 p.m. until closing prayers at 4:00 p.m.  As it was her request, cremation rites have been accorded and inurnment will take place privately at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery, 200953 W. Hoff Rd., Elwood, IL.

 

In lieu of flowers, donations in her name to Lightways Hospice, 250 Water Stone Circle, Joliet, IL 60431, to any Veterans group, or The American Lung Association, would be appreciated.
