Obituary of Bruce Woodrow Harrison, Jr.

Bruce Woodrow Harrison, Jr.

Bruce Woodrow Harrison, Jr., of Shorewood, IL, passed away on Tuesday, December 16, 2025, at St. Joseph Medical Center in Joliet, IL at the age of 81.

Bruce was born in Chicago, IL, on August 22, 1944, to the late Bruce and Elizabeth (Hoekstra) Harrison. He attended Kelly High School in Chicago and went on to attend Loyola University. Bruce was a proud Army Veteran who faithfully served his country during the Vietnam War. Following his military service, he married Diane Lynn Lesauskis on May 3, 1969. Together they built a home rooted in care, respect, and unwavering support while raising their 3 boys.

After his military service, Bruce built a successful career as an accountant, dedicating much of his professional life to A.T. Kearney Consulting in Chicago before retiring.  Throughout his life and into retirement, Bruce embraced the simple joys that brought him peace; spending time outdoors, enjoying a round of golf, or casting a line on open waters. His most cherished moments were those spent at his lake house, surrounded by nature and the people he loved.  A devoted Chicago sports fan, Bruce could often be found cheering on his beloved Cubs and Bears.

Bruce is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Diane Harrison; his sons, Wayne B. (Tammy) Harrison, Joseph (Kelly) Harrison, and Craig (Shannon) Harrison; grandchildren, Anthony, Noah, Zoe, Zeke, Emma, and Kayla; and his sister, Grace (Gary) Ohlrogge.  Many nieces, great-nieces, and great-nephews also survive.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his sister, Barb (the late Phillip) Migala; and his nephew, Ian Migala.
