Bailey June Bergstrom, passed away at the age of 17, on January 6, 2026, at Lurie Children’s Hospital in Chicago, Illinois. She was born on January 22, 2008, in Morris, Illinois.
Bailey was a student at Plainfield High School District 202. She was known for her sweet and gentle spirit, touching the lives of those around her with quiet kindness and a thoughtful presence. She found joy in simple, meaningful moments and will be remembered for the warmth she brought to her family, caregivers, and those that loved her.
Bailey dearly loved her books, music, and watching movies. These interests reflected her peaceful nature and provided her with comfort and enjoyment. Bailey’s life, though far too brief, left a lasting imprint on those who loved her. Her family will continue to cherish her memory and the gentle, loving presence she brought into their lives.
Bailey is survived by her mother, Windi Bergstrom; sister, Rilee Bergstrom; maternal grandmother, Kathy (Pete) Vescovi; her aunts and uncles, Hilary Dorman, Karli (Adam) Ericson, Katelyn Dorman, Peter (fiancé Jordyn Kellinger) Vescovi, Dominic (Stephanie) Vescovi, Chuck Dorman, Janet Krutul, and Sandy Thomas; and her cousins, Brianna Dorman, Shaelin Dorman, Cole Freeman, and Cassidy Freeman.
She was preceded in death by her father, Russell Bergstrom; her maternal grandfather, Harry Dorman; her paternal grandparents, Elaine Hunt and Russ Bergstrom; and her aunts, Hailey Vescovi and Dawn Hruby.
Funeral Services for Bailey June Bergstrom will be held on Tuesday, January 13, 2026, 11 a.m. at the Fred C. Dames Funeral Home, 3200 Black Rd., Joliet, IL. Interment will follow at Aux Sable Grove Cemetery in Yorkville. Visitation will be held on Monday, January 12, 2026, at the funeral home chapel from 3:00 to 8:00 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests books are brought to the funeral home during visitation for donation to Lurie Children’s Hospital.
