Obituary of Eddie Baez

Eddie Baez, age 56, passed away peacefully on Saturday, January 17, 2026, at his home surrounded by the love of his family.  He was born on May 28, 1969, in New York, New York on the lower east side, the son of the late Edward and Carmen (nee Roldan) Baez.  

Eddie loved Star Wars and music, and spent many years sharing that passion as a DJ. He was a die-hard fan of the Yankees, Knicks, and Giants. A loving husband, and devoted father, he was also a loyal friend to many. Always willing to help, he would give the shirt off his back to anyone in need, but he was also strong, tough, and never afraid to stand his ground.

Eddie is survived by his loving wife, Jen; adored children, Anthony, Sydney, Amy (Marcello D’Landazuri), and Scarlett; and his brothers from another mother, Creole, Billy, Chris A., Grimm, Lorenzo, Monroe, Nick, and Roger.

A Memorial Gathering for Eddie Baez will be held on Friday, January 23, 2026, at the Fred C. Dames Funeral Home, 3200 Black Rd., Joliet, IL, from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Due to his request, cremation rites have been accorded.

In lieu of flowers, memorials to the family would be appreciated.
