Obituary of Donald C. Marcus
Donald C. “Don” Marcus, age 80, of Monee, passed away on Friday, January 23, 2026, at his home.
Don was born on February 22, 1945, in Oak Lawn, to Carl and Marcella (Buchler) Marcus. He was in the land surveying profession for over 35 years, most recently for C3 Corporation. Don was an avid sports enthusiast who enjoyed golfing, bowling, baseball, and football.
Donald is survived by his loving wife, Carol (Jachowicz); two sisters-in-law, Janet (Steve) Martin and Catherine (Steve) Krasowski; one brother-in-law, Tim (Chris) Jachowicz; six nieces and nephews, Michael, Alyssa, Elizabeth, Tracy, Jennifer, and Jason; several great-nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his mother-in-law, Carol Cservenyak, and one brother-in-law, David Jachowicz.
Don will be remembered as a hardworking, kind man, who was a loving friend to many.
Visitation for Donald C. Marcus will be held on Friday, January 30, 2026, at the Fred C. Dames Funeral Home, 3200 Black Rd., Joliet, IL, from 10:00 a.m. until the time of Funeral Services at 11:30 a.m. Interment will follow at Oakland Memory Lanes in Dolton, Illinois, at 1:30 p.m.
