Obituary of Helen Ruth Garrison

Helen Ruth Garrison, of Morris, passed away on Monday, January 26, 2026, at her residence at the age of 72.

Helen was born in St. Louis, MO, the daughter of the late Floyd and Marion (Thompson) Garrison. A resident of Morris for the past 10 years, she earned her Master’s Degree in Electrical Engineering from Oregon State University. Throughout her distinguished career, Helen applied her expertise to projects ranging from nuclear power facilities to the New York Stock Exchange, where she was widely admired for her leadership. Most recently, Helen and Ingreth were developing a private assisted living facility to care for the community’s elderly.

Helen is survived by Ingreth Ramirez, Juan Pablo, and Juan David Heredia, all of Morris; and her brother, Brian (Debra) Garrison.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, David Garrison.

A private green funeral service will be held for the family. In lieu of flowers, memorials in her name may be made to assistance for the elderly, in care of Ingreth Ramirez, 1201 W. Route 6, Morris, IL 60450.
