Obituary of Jeanne Kathryn DeZee

Jeanne K. DeZee, age 82, of Joliet, IL, passed away on Monday, February 16, 2026, at Lightways Hospice Home in Joliet. Jeanne was born in Joliet, IL on September 8, 1943, to the late Raymond E. and Lois M. (nee Buckley) Seppi. She graduated from Lockport Central High School.

Jeanne cherished family and found great joy in spending time with them. She was an avid reader who could often be found with a good book in hand, and enjoyed challenging herself with crossword puzzles. Jeanne was a devoted fan of the Chicago Cubs and the Chicago Bears. She enjoyed sitting outside soaking up the warmth on hot days. One of her favorite past times was fishing with her dad and sister creating many special memories.

Jeanne is survived by her children, Gretta Scalpelli ( Larry Couch), Kathryn (Richard) Nations, and Raymond DeZee Sr.; grandchildren, Thomas, Ashley, Danielle, Jessica, Raymond Jr., Molly, and Jesse; step-grandchildren, Marisa and Mariah Nations; numerous great-grandchildren; special great-grandson, Jordyn Noe; and sister, Carol Stonitsch-Tudor( Robert); nieces, Sherri Stonitsch, and Raeshel (Lee) Angelelli; and nephew, Jeffrey( Nicky) Stonitsch.

She was preceded in death by her infant son, John David; grandson, Joshua Meyer; and former husband, David E. DeZee.

Due to her request, cremation rites have been accorded. A Memorial Service will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, March 8, 2026 at First Church of God, 1805 E. Laraway Rd., Joliet, IL.
