Obituary of Henry Modlinski

Henry Modlinski

Henry Modlinski, passed away peacefully at his home in Joliet, IL, on Saturday, February 28, 2026, at the age of 68. Henry was born on June 9, 1957, in Poland, to his mother, Danuta Modlinski. From his earliest years, Henry carried with him a deep sense of responsibility, quiet strength, and a generous heart that would come to define the way he lived his life.

Henry spent his childhood and youth in Poland and England, where he received his education before immigrating to the United States at the age of 19. This journey marked the beginning of a new chapter in his life, one in which he built a home, a career, and a close-knit family grounded in love, hard work, and mutual support.

Henry retired in 2023 after dedicating 25 years of service to Film Quest in Bolingbrook, where he worked as a Production Supervisor. In his professional life, as in his personal life, he was known for his reliability and willingness to help others. His colleagues and those who worked alongside him could always count on his steady presence and his commitment to getting the job done right.

Outside of work, Henry found joy in simple, meaningful moments shared with those he loved. He especially enjoyed fishing with his wife, Helen, and treasured family barbecues and get-togethers. These gatherings reflected what mattered most to him: time spent together, good conversation, and the warmth of family.

Henry had a profound love for music and a refined ear for premium audio systems. Whether enjoying a quiet moment alone or playing a favorite track for others, he delighted in the depth and clarity of sound, discovering in music a source of both comfort and meaningful connection. He was also proud of his accomplishments in martial arts, having achieved his black belt. This achievement reflected his discipline, perseverance, and inner strength.

Above all, Henry will be remembered for his selfless nature and his huge heart. He was the person who always helped everyone, putting the needs of others before his own without hesitation. His actions consistently reflected his values, and those who knew him were touched by his kindness, generosity, and unwavering support.

Henry is survived by his beloved wife, Helen (nee Cieslinski) Modlinski; his children, Melissa and Marcus Modlinski; mother, Danuta Modlinski; cousins, Darek Modlinski, Daniel Modlinski, Victoria Gonzalez, Bernadette McUrich, and Michael Rogozinski; his in-laws, Mary (Anthony) Rulka, Leslie (Richard) Wojcicki, and John (Donna) Cieslinski; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Henryk and Helena Cieslinski; his brother-in-law, Ted Cieslinski; and his nephew, Steven Cieslinski.
