Obituary of Robert Lee Boyle, Sr.

Robert Lee ”Rob” Boyle, Sr., age 52, of Oak Forest, passed away on Wednesday, March 11, 2026, at Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn.

Rob was born on January 2, 1974, in Joliet to Robert Lee Cobb and Eileen Boyle. He loved all racing, and even raced Midget Cars. Rob was great with his hands and was an avid woodworker and carpenter. For many years, Rob would go fishing with his Uncle Bob and everyone knew that those two were the best fishing buddies. Those who knew Rob will remember him for his jokes, humor, and his constant goofiness. He will be missed by his dogs, Pheonix, Penny, and Pepper, and his cat, Pumpkin.

Rob is survived by his life-long partner and wife, Lisa Longino; his beloved mother, Eileen Boyle; his loving children, Robert (Jeanette Berrong) Boyle, Jr., Kevin Boyle, Donavon Boyle, Isabelle (Ian Wilkinson) Boyle, and Jaydon Boyle; adoring grandchildren, Dixie, Chance, Cole, Tessen, Cody, and Avalon; his step-children, Holly (Jeff) Mistrata, Gery (Katelyn Roche) Longino, Ashleigh (Noah) Richer, and Corey (Maura) Hostey; dear sister, Theresa (Steve) Wilson; aunts, Anne Johnson, Kathleen Phillips, Margaret “Peggy” Boyle (who was known as his weekend mom), and Patricia (Billie) Jackson; his brother from another mother, Donald (Amanda) Cobb; numerous nieces and nephews, including his special nephew, Tyler Boyle; and many cousins and dear friends.

He was preceded in death by, his father, Robert Lee Cobb; one son in infancy, Alexander Boyle; his maternal and paternal grandparents; two uncles, Wayne Johnson and Robert Phillips; and his mother-in-law and partner-in-crime, Linda Longino.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that you spend time with your loved ones or to go out fishing in memory of Rob.

A Celebration of Life is being planned for a later date. As it was Rob’s request, cremation rites have been accorded.
